The Hello World Initiative - Learn to Code for Free

Tech is a hot industry to be in right now, and learning to code doesn't have to be expensive. There are a ton of resources available for free online if you know where to find them, and many more that cost very little. We're not here to tell anyone whether a bootcamp or college degree is worth it, just to point out that alternatives exist. Teaching yourself to code takes discipline, hard work, and a supportive community, and that's what we're here to provide. If you are just starting and have never written a single line of code in your life, come join us - we'll be more than happy to get you started on track to becoming a productive developer - it's not as hard as you think (and you don't need to be good at math)! If you get stuck along the way we'll do everything we can to get you un-stuck so you can keep learning and having fun learning how to code.If you already know how to code, but have cool ideas for a project and want to bounce your ideas off of somebody, want to network, lead a team, think you might benefit from helping others learn how to code, or you just want to hang out with other coders to talk about tech, come and nerd out with us! :)We primarily work with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and other web technologies, but our members have a wide variety of experience levels.NOTE: This is not a class! You don't need to worry about being prepared or caught up to the material everyone else is working on. We're all at different skill and experience levels, and all you need to join us is a computer and a desire to learn.‍
